HPSA 5315 Cartography and Data Visualization
An introduction to key principles and practices of effective visual data communication through maps, information graphics, and other data visualizations. Recognizing the critical role maps and other data visualizations play in public health, both in analysis and communication, this course will present guiding principles and best practices, carefully examine examples of effective and ineffective visualizations, and demonstrate how to apply correct data visualization principles in maps and figures created using GIS and other software.
