HSS 5317 Health Economics II
The second health economics course provides more in-depth coverage of microeconomic theory. Students apply these concepts to health, healthcare, and health policy topics with a focus on examining and explaining the economic causes and consequences of inequities in social resources, health, and health care. Students choose a topic area of focus and develop an in-class presentation meant to motivate the topic, summarize the current literature, and highlight at least one critical gap in knowledge. Students will identify a research question that addresses this gap and identify at least one dataset that can be used to address the question.
