CN 5302W Nutrigenomics

Nutritional Genomics, which includes Nutrigenetics and Nutrigenomics, is the study of the interaction between nutrients and the genome. This emerging science provides a foundation for personalized medicine medical nutrition therapy approaches. This course offers a comprehensive and systematic approach for providing insight into how the interactions between diet and genotype can affect the phenotype. The course will utilize evidence-based coverage of established and emerging topics related to Nutrigenetics and Nutrigenomics. Lectures and reading materials will facilitate understanding of nutrient-gene interrelationships and provide an evidence-based foundation to clinical application of nutritional genomics for health promotion and disease prevention on a personalized level.
