CN 5301W Introduction to Dietetics and Nutrition

This course provides an overview of nutrition-specific assessment outlined as the nutrition care process for various age groups. Lecture topics highlight evaluation of individual dietary status for nutrition adequacy and required intervention. Students will also explore areas of nutrition expertise including clinical, community, and food management. Emphasis will be placed on the clinical nutrition including understanding referral requirements, malnutrition diagnoses, and multidisciplinary relationships.
