Dissertation Committee

The Dissertation Committee consists of a minimum of five members:

• Three members are faculty members from the Peter O'Donnell Jr. School of Public Health who hold a Ph.D. in a field related to the dissertation work or have a Ph.D. and a record of sustained scholarly activity in a related field.
• One of the OSPH committee members serves as Dissertation Chair and must hold Dissertation and Core Teaching Faculty Status.
• One committee member must be from outside the OSPH and hold a terminal degree in an area related to the dissertation work.

The remaining committee member can be a faculty member within OSPH, within UT Southwestern, or from the University of Texas System and hold a terminal degree in an area related to the dissertation work.
