NS 5101 NEUROTECHNIQUES

Neuroscience is a multidisciplinary field that leverages diverse technologies to unravel the complexities of brain networks. Over the past two decades, significant advances have been made in developing innovative tools to address neuroscience questions across various levels - from individual molecules to neuronal circuits and human behavior. This course provides an overview of major neuroscience research technologies, with a focus on state-of-the-art methods. Topics will include: (1) Techniques for elucidating brain structure at genetic, molecular, and cellular levels. (2) Methods for recording brain activity. And (3) Approaches for functional control and manipulation of brain activity.
