NSG 1902 CLINICAL NEUROSURGERY

1902 is a 4-week extension of the traditional neurosurgery sub-I (1901). To take 1902, students must first successfully complete 1901. This 4 week rotation will cover the same material as 1901, but in greater depth. Students will receive a broad education on the evaluation and treatment of neurosurgical patients. They will have subspecialty exposure to spine, vascular, tumor, trauma, and pediatric neurosurgical disease. They will learn to interpret basic neuro- imaging studies (CT, MRI, angiogram). Their time will be spent in the clinic, OR, ER, and on rounds (floor and ICU). Rotation sites will include Zale Lipshy, Clements, Parkland, and Children's. Students will also attend our weekly didactic conferences.
