NSG 1901 SEL - CL NEUROSURGERY
This course is designed to provide students with an in depth exposure to all aspects of Neurological Surgery, both operative and non-operative. Students with an interest in the neurosciences and/or critical care will particularly benefit from this selective. During the rotation, students will actively participate in teaching and clinical rounds as well as the OR. Students will be integrated fully into the neurosurgical team and be expected to perform at the level of an intern (presenting patients on rounds, writing notes, assisting in opening and closure in the OR, taking in-house call). Additionally, students are expected to gain competence in the performance of a detailed neurological examination, gain greater understanding of the surgical management of complex neurologic pathology and better understand what a career in Neurological Surgery entails. He/she will work closely with the neurosurgical residents and faculty throughout the rotation. They will also attend our weekly didactic conferences.

Must successfully complete SUR 1808 prior to enrollment
