MED 1915 SEL - IM & PSYCHIATRY
This selective is designed to provide students who have an interest in both internal medicine and psychiatry with a formal opportunity to practice both disciplines in an integrated fashion. Those enrolled in this selective will spend two weeks on the Parkland Med Secure unit and two weeks on the Parkland Inpatient Psychiatry unit serving as both primary provider and consultant throughout. Students are given the responsibilities of an intern in patient care and will work under the supervision of the attending and resident(s) on these services. They will be expected to follow 2-4 primary and 1-2 consult patients daily, preferably cases they have worked up since admission / initial consultation. Students will have 1-2 days off a week (weekends only). Overnight call is not required.

Must successfully complete MED 1801 & PSY 1806 prior to enrollment
