Pathology is the study of disease. Pathology bridges basic science and clinical medicine and is critically important to understanding the mechanisms of disease. In this brief introduction to human pathology, I will emphasize the role of cell injury and adaptation, inflammatory and repair to diseases in the cardiovascular, respiratory and gastrointestinal systems.
