MPA 5215 PHARMACOLOGY I

This course offers an analytic and systems-based approach to pharmacologic agents, including classifications, therapeutic indications, mechanisms of action, adverse effects, contraindications, toxic effects, and monitoring of pharmacotherapeutic regimens, in addition to therapeutic rationale of prescription and nonprescription medications. This course will enhance the fundamental knowledge acquired in Clinical Medicine upon which students will be able to appropriately prescribe medications in various clinical settings and be able to apply advanced principles of evidence-based pharmacotherapy to the clinical prevention and treatment of specific disease states.
