Applicants should take note that letters of recommendation and professional and/or research experience(s) should include not only who, what, when and where, but also how well applicant(s) understand the work or research itself beyond just the techniques that applicant(s) carry out, and ultimately, how applicant(s) communicate these elements in the personal statement.
