SCH 1707 SCH ACT- QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

The program infrastructure for medical students to participate, design, and lead QI and patient safety projects, or to undertake a detailed course of study based on personal interests. After completing the scholarly activity for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, the student will be able to: 
1. Identify the key elements of an effective aim statement 
2. Identify three kinds of measures: process, outcome, and balancing 
3. Develop tests of change on a small scale using the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle.
4. Construct and use QI tools appropriately
5. Prepare a report or manuscript conforming to scholarly writing for quality improvement work
