ORTH 2104W ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY VIR ELECT

The curriculum will involve an introductory lecture discussing expectations for the rotation, possible changes in the application process for orthopaedic surgery. The introductory course will also discuss life as an Orthopaedic resident and attending, work/life balance, managing stress and burnout, etc. The students will be divided into 2 rotation services where they will spend 2 weeks on Orthopaedic trauma and two weeks on General ortho (adult hip/knee, tumor, hand, foot and ankle, spine, shoulder and elbow, and sports). Students will be expected to attend all virtual lectures related to their service weekly, Departmental conference weekly, and an additional lecture with the specialty advisor weekly. Students will also be required to do a presentation on an Orthopaedic topic of their choosing at the end of their rotation.
