FAM 2002 EXPLORE PED SLEEP & FAM MED
Students will spend 2-weeks in the outpatient Pediatric sleep medicine and Family Medicine clinic. Students will be required to participate in learning the principles of evaluating and managing the Pediatric patient in the context of sleep disturbance. Students are given the responsibilities of patient evaluations, case presentations and participation in ongoing research projects if interested. Please email Dr. Wani with scheduling requests and specific interests 1 month prior to intended start date. This rotation will be under the supervision of Fellows and the Attending Physician. Common diagnoses and topics of sleep medicine that the student will encounter and become familiar with are: - Obstructive sleep apnea - Central sleep apnea - Parasomnias - Narcolepsy - Hypersomnia
