COLL 1304 ACADEMIC COLL: CLERKSHIP I

The Colleges will instruct students in what it means to be and to act as a doctor, and will be guided by the AAMC Physician Competency Reference Set that is necessary for all physicians. In order to fulfill this mission, the following are required:  a bilateral, comfortable, and trusting relationship must be nurtured between students and faculty; masters, mentors, and the student groups will meet consistently throughout the students’ entire four years of medical school.  There will be clear and consistent delivery of the essential teaching content, and transparent expectations for skills development of students. At the same time, variation in teaching style and free-flowing two way discussion among the small groups and mentors, which is so highly valued within the Colleges, will be preserved.  Concern for life balance and both physical and emotional wellness of students and faculty is a priority.
