ANES 2001 EXPLORATION ANESTHESIA
This is a 2-week, exploratory experience that allows students an opportunity to observe peri-operative medicine. Each student will be paired with 1 or 2 preceptors with whom they will spend the 2-weeks. The student will experience all aspects of anesthesiology—the pre-operative process with the patient, operating room preparation and set-up, airway and hemodynamic management, intraoperative care, and planning for the recovery/post-operative process. The experience also enables the student to engage with residents in this field and work closely with faculty in a mentor/mentee role. The purpose of the course is to acquire basic knowledge and skills in anesthesiology as well as to explore a career in the specialty.
