Goals and Objectives
The Master of Science in Health Informatics Program equips students with the necessary education and experience to pursue meaningful informatics careers at the interface of health care and technology. Students will learn to apply their skills, knowledge, and passion wherever data and information are used to improve individual health, health care delivery, public health, and biomedical research. Graduates of the MSHI program will initiate meaningful change and will serve as multidisciplinary leaders in the field of health informatics.
MSHI Program Objectives:
- Empower students to build on skills already obtained through their previous education in medicine, health, computer science, or information technology.
- Offer hands-on training and mentorship from educators with firsthand knowledge of health systems, all through the lens of improving the process of care delivery.
- Provide practical learning opportunities for students to innovate, modify and optimize care processes through the practical use of data analytics, assessment of technology solutions, the development of innovative tools, and methods of evaluation.
- Prepare students for careers in a wide variety of positions within health care, health research, public health, industry, and government.
