1. Illustrate the impact of major causes of maternal morbidity and mortality and near-miss morbidity/mortality on the current healthcare system
2. Review the role of simulation training exercises in management of maternal peripartum hemorrhage
3. Identify risk factors and management plans for maternal hemorrhage, postpartum infection and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
4. Compare current prenatal standards of care with future directions.
5. Separate fact from superstitions and misconceptions about pregnancy
6. Explore the topic of pregnancy across time and culture
