Requirements for Admission
The Admissions Committee of the Department of Clinical Nutrition determines the admissibility of an applicant into the program in accordance with the quality of the applicant's credentials. The Department works in cooperation with the UT Southwestern Medical Center Office of Admissions and with the approval of the Dean of UT Southwestern School of Health Professions. Admission requirements are:

Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution prior to matriculation

Completion of all admission course requirements prior to enrollment as outlined in the table below

A recommended minimum of a 3.0 prerequisite and a 3.0 overall grade point average

Ability to perform essential functions as described in this chapter

Completion of online application

Official transcripts from all schools attended

Three letters of recommendation

Personal interview

Special note about prerequisites: Students can complete prerequisite courses at most community colleges and four-year universities. A grade of C or higher is required for all science and math requirements. Because admission into the Clinical Nutrition - Coordinated Program is competitive and made on a space-available basis, special consideration in the selection process is given to:
